There’s no single factor more important to your business’ success than customer loyalty. Avoid these mistakes and obtain the value of true loyalty!
#1 You don't listen to your customers.
Many businesses fall into the trap of making the loyalty or rewards program about them rather than the customer who’s the main user of that program. Hold focus groups, do research, look into the data you've gathered, analyse trends and see exactly what your customers want from your loyalty program. A survey from SAS found that 60% of customers want businesses to predict their wants and know their needs.
#2 Failure to launch.
Some businesses are guilty of incubating their loyalty programs for so long that when the launch finally comes around, the program is already outdated. In an attempt to catch up they over-develop and over-complicate whilst blindly guessing what their customer wants. It's better to launch a smaller program sooner and start getting valuable data to inform further enhancements or contact the experts!
#3 Deploying a one-size-fits-all program.
We're all unique, so why do some loyalty programs treat us all the same? Messaging, promotional offers and rewards should be personalised to each individual with the help of data-driven insights. A recent survey showed that 71% of consumers feel frustrated when a shopping experience is impersonal.
