Top 5 Reasons why your Loyalty Program is struggling

Loyalty programs have become popular tools for quick service restaurants to retain and attract customers but also to collect invaluable customer data.

🍟 My McDonald's Rewards
The loyalty program is app-based and free to sign up to. For each £1 spent at McDonald's customers will get 100 points. Once a customer hits 1,500 points they can claim a reward including small fries or a mini McFlurry. As customers build up points the value of the item that can be claimed increases, all the way up to a Big Mac. Collecting and redeeming points is easy and done via a QR code in the app. However, points expire 1 year after they are earned, so use them before you lose them!

🍗 KFC Rewards Arcade
The KFC Rewards Arcade has recently replaced the dated stamps scheme. The new app-based loyalty program is now all down to luck, similar to McDonald’s Monopoly. Each time a customer makes a purchase, they get the chance to win free food by playing a game on the app called ‘Hammer Time.’ KFC stated they’ll be giving away ‘1000s rewards every day’ from £1.19 for two wings, up to £7.49 for a mighty box for one. Sadly, there is also a chance that users could win nothing.

🍽 Nando's Rewards
Customers can sign up for Nando's Rewards through the website and save their personal digital loyalty card to their Apple wallet. With every £7 spent on food, customers will be rewarded with a chilli. Chilli's can be exchanged for free food once the user has hit 3, 6 or 10. It may take a while for customers to get to the top reward and it requires a £70 minimum spent before unlocking the 'red' reward (a full meal). The program is free to sign up for!
