Top 5 Reasons why your Loyalty Program is struggling
While making personal travel arrangements, customers often utilise several loyalty programs to earn airline miles or hotel points. However, if you are travelling for work and someone else arranges your accommodation, it is simple to overlook or perhaps just forget this step, possibly losing thousands of points. And those points may be incredibly valuable.
According to the Global Business Travel Association, the estimated worldwide business travel expenditure will reach $697 billion in 2021, and this figure is likely to rise as the market rebounds from COVID-19 pandemic lows.
So if you have a business trip coming up and your company is covering your travel expenditures, don’t overlook all of the potential opportunities to earn points. Here are some tips to keep in mind to avoid missing out on any further bonuses.
✈️Register the reservation code with your airline and hotel loyalty programs.
It is simple to add your frequent flyer or loyalty program number to your reservation while making your own travel arrangements. But you might not have the choice to add such loyalty programs if someone else is handling your travel arrangements. When you get your airline and hotel reservation confirmations, look for the reservation code that matches your flight and hotel. After you have done that, manually add the booking to your account and airline loyalty programs.
✈️Apply for a credit card that offers miles and points when making purchases.
Use a credit card that offerings additional points for travel expenditures if you decide to buy any flight extras such as Food, Baggage, Fast Track and Wi-fi Access. During a business trip, you may have additional costs such as food and public transport. Use a credit card that offers extra points for these scenarios.
You may not be able to fully take advantage of earning points if your employer uses the company credit card for your travels. However, you still can collect miles for your travels and accumulate points for your hotel stay.
