From 9th May Mastercard users can redeem their points for travel booking through Expedia. The new loyalty program is only currently available for North America users however they plan to expand to other markets in the future.
When users sign on the cardholder will be able to see the points to dollar conversion as they search for travel, This gives the user three options when booking. Book with points, Book with their MasterCard credit card or use a combination of both.

In addition to this, Ariane Gorin, President of Expedia for business released a statement saying
“We are proud to partner with Mastercard to ensure their customers can spend their well-earned loyalty points on great travel experiences. Our template technology will power Mastercard’s global network of issuers, giving their customers access to a broad choice of hotels, flights, car rentals and activities, all backed by our deep customer service expertise. This partnership will also bring more valuable travel demand to our global supply partners,”
Cardholders will have access to 700,000+ hotels, 500+ airlines, 100+ car rental businesses, and hundreds of activities throughout the world thanks to Expedia Group's extensive global presence.
