So now we would like to show our community some examples of some popular green loyalty programs and we also want to hear from our community about "How Should Companies Implement More Sustainability Practices in Current Loyalty Programs?

Emotion promotion: the new rules of loyalty for the post-COVID era

As a way to reduce their carbon footprint many businesses have implemented green loyalty programs, which has led to successful customer retention and promotes sustainability. The examples below are a few loyalty programs with a key focus on the health of the planet.

Etihad Airways

The loyalty program enables businesses to invest in Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF), offset business travel, and encourage environmentally friendly initiatives. "Corporate Conscious Choices" is a programme that has been created for businesses that are "committed to reducing emissions and operating sustainably, with rewards and incentives designed to proactively support pro-environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives and employee behaviour."

Patagonia

They have consistently uphold their ideals in whatever they do, with sustainability being the central one. Patagonia actively promotes green initiatives by teaching customers on how to live more sustainably. Also, customers may bring in their old clothing for credit towards their next purchase as part of their Worn Wear program. Most famously they donate 1% of revenue to sustainability causes.

Credo Beauty

Credo Beauty encourages customers to recycle their unwanted items in-store. Customers may place plastic bottles, tubes, compacts, and other items in bins located throughout the brand's physical retail locations to prevent contributing more virgin plastic to landfills. Customer will receive reward points per product recycled 

IKEA

The company firmly integrates their reward programme with sustainability. Ikea holds competitions for users of its loyalty platform in an effort to promote green activities. A strong digital infrastructure and provides personalised rewards and customer are engaged and educated by gamification related to sustainability.
