Top 5 Reasons why your Loyalty Program is struggling

GAIL's, an artisan bakery, has announced the introduction of the bakery's first digital loyalty program. The digital loyalty program went live on April 11th, and clients will be able to access it by downloading the new GAIL app. Customers can also download the app by scanning QR codes present at bakeries.

Customers will receive one digital stamp every visit on their app as part of the loyalty scheme, or two stamps if they spend more than £20.00. Customers who collect nine digital stamps will be able to pick between a loaf of bread and a barista-made drink, ranging from Iced Coffees to Flat Whites.

This follows the trend of all the UK’s Top QSR businesses all offering reward-based loyalty programs to boost customer retention and repeat purchases.

Greggs also has an app-based rewards programme that offers free items after nine transactions, while Pret A Manger has a food-focused Pret Rewards system that works alongside its in-store beverage subscription programme. Costa moved away from a points based scheme to a similar buy 8 get one free solution.

We think this is a strong move by Gail's, to digitise the traditional stamp card loyalty program. Customer love this format. It's easy to understand, valuable, achievable and fun.

We're looking forward to our first free coffee - well done Gail's
